Iron Deficiency Induced Hair Loss
When you come to the conclusion that your hair density has changed, you start looking for reasons – anything that might be causing it.
There are many factors that can contribute to hair loss. One very common cause is iron deficiency. Iron is the mineral occurring in the greatest volume in the blood and its most important function in the human body is to assist in the production of both hemoglobin (the substance that carries oxygen within red blood cells) and myoglobin. Iron is also involved in the oxygenation of your body’s red blood cells. Iron deficiency sometimes triggers hair loss in large quantities but it can also be the cause of subtle, slow thinning over several months or even years.
It is understood that levels of iron play a significant role in various body functions, but it is also essential for sustaining normal growth and maintenance of hair. Iron deficiency induced hair loss is most common in pre-menopausal women between the ages of 35 and 50, when heavy menstruation contributes to iron loss. It should also be noted that iron deficiency induced hair loss is not a condition exclusive to females. Males who by personal preference or religious reasons are vegetarian, habitually reveal depleted iron stores and/or low iron availability.

Exposing Hair Loss Myths - Part 1
There are a lot of unverified facts about hair loss so that you will never truly know whether a certain claim holds some truth or none unless it comes straight from the horse’s mouth. It has been reported that any change, permanent or temporary, in the body can simultaneously affect the hair and its growth one way or another. One of the common conditions that results from such changes is hair loss. From that insight, it is only normal to come across myths about the condition. Here are just some of them.
It is not the frequency of your shampoo application that contributes to hair loss but the excessiveness — that is, when it becomes unnecessary to do so but you still do it out of habit perhaps or whatnot. Without a conditioner, regular shampoos alone can increasingly contribute to hair breakage which is the first step to hair loss.
Shampooing should depend on how often you need to clean your hair. People with dry hair would most likely need to shampoo less often than those with oily hair. If there are other scalp or hair problems such as dandruff or flaky scalp, then there are specialised shampoos to help.

3 Unhealthy Lifestyles that Elicit Hair Loss
Hair loss and hair thinning problem isn’t always only in your genes. Sometimes, bad habits and improper lifestyle can bring about the onset of this condition.
Indeed, smoking, drinking and extreme dieting are some poor lifestyle choices that take a toll on the quality of your hair, inducing the onset of hair fall, hair thinning or, worse, hair loss.
Excessive Smoking
Cigarette smoking affects the beauty of the hair since it causes the strands to become dull, lifeless and brittle.
The damaging toxins like carbon monoxide and nicotine, which are present in tobacco, may reduce the blood’s oxygen-carrying capacity, leading to brittle and damaged hair strands.
In addition, smoking stops the flow of blood in all parts of the body, including the hair; hence, delivering inadequate amount of oxygen and nutrients on the hair follicles. When this happens, the hair follicles do not get the right amount of the vital nutrients they need to assist in the hair growth process.

Correct Hair Brushing Tips and Tricks
True, a lot of women spend more time with their hair than with any other part of the body. Hair represents everything important to a woman like femininity, beauty, or reproductive potential. Although the parallel could be true for men, women and their hair are simply an inseparable, romantic pair.
One of the things women love doing with their hair is brushing. If there’s one hair care practice that will ensure fullness and proper framing of your face, it is brushing. Brushing allows the hair to secrete natural oils to the full length of the hair while increasing the blood circulation to the scalp, which in turn can promote hair growth. For these reasons, brushing can give birth to a healthier, shinier, and stronger hair.
Brushing with Natural Bristles
Unlike synthetic bristles, natural bristles perform a better job of removing dirt and dust. It can help distribute the natural oils better as well. Synthetic bristles are more likely to create static. Brushes that combine synthetic and natural fibers can be good on medium to thick hair.

Treatments for Hair Loss and Receding Hairline
Receding hairline is a result of a male pattern baldness which is also known as androgenic alopecia. This is classified as the thinning of the hair at the temple and crown or top of the head. Gradually, this leads to progressive development of a bald patch at the frontal hairline and on top. Hair and medical experts have stated that the main cause of receding hairlines in almost all men is genetics or heredity. The good news now is that these causes can be totally prevented by utilizing accurate and potent treatments for hair loss that contain DHT blockers or inhibitors.
Many men might wonder what DHT or dihydrotestosterone is. Well, DHT is a derivative or a by-product of the male hormone testosterone with the aid of the enzyme 5-alpha reductase. This whole process is commonly referred to as the conversion of testosterone into dihydrotestosterone. DHT is the major cause of male pattern hair loss and is usually found in tremendous concentrations in genetically vulnerable males by the age of 25 and above. However, women can be equally bothered by this if there are excessive amounts of DHT in the body and scalp.

From Fabulous to Disastrous: The Beauty Rituals that Cause Hair Damage
Naomi Campbell is a walking proof that this is no myth.
We do a lot of things to our hair because it can make us look a lot better for a lot less. From heat styling to chemical treatments, our hair can practically take any vanity habit. However, there is a limit to the things we can do to it. Too much hair grooming can become counterproductive. We discuss the hair styling practices that can cause the most problematic and depressing of all hair problems — alopecia.
Wearing tight hairstyles While there are different ways we could lose our hair, the simplest method is to wear tight ponytails on a regular basis. Ponytails inflict too much traction on the hair follicles, resulting in folliculitis, which in turn causes spot baldness. Cornrows, tight chignons, and dreadlocks may also cause hair loss.

Stop Hair Fall and Support Hair Growth
Although a number of hair loss products are struggling to win the battle of hair loss, experts say that natural hair loss treatment can yield some of the best benefits for anyone concerned about the health of their hair.
Essential fatty acids support skin and hair growth. Omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids are useful in maintaining healthy hair. By increasing these levels of essential fatty acids, one can stop hair fall and thereby slow down hair loss.
Omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids also play a big part in growth and development, especially brain function. These fatty acids help to maintain bone health, regulate metabolism and maintain the reproductive system. The body needs essential fatty acids but it can’t produce it on its own. Omega-3 fatty acids, which help to reduce inflammation, are abundantly found in fish and olive oil. They are also found in whole grains, fruits and vegetables, garlic and wine. Omega-6 fatty acids are found in vegetable oils.
Omega-3 fatty acids can help with blood circulation and cell growth, which are useful for your hair follicles. They help to increase nutrient absorption at the hair follicles, reduce stress and enhance the immune system. A deficiency in essential fatty acids produces symptoms such as dry, scaly or flaky skin, dandruff, dry, brittle hair or eczema. All of which may lead to hair loss.

Stop Hair Fall 101
Hair loss doesn’t have to happen—it’s as simple as that. If you want to learn how to prevent hair loss, become proactive. The best way to stop hair fall is to take good care of your hair. There are several ways on how you can nurture your hair to keep your beautiful and healthy locks.
The following are some special pointers:
Keep your hair clean.
The most essential thing that you should remember is to always keep your hair clean. Wash your hair regularly especially after you put on hair products like gels, hair sprays, creams or lotions. You also need to use mild and natural shampoo and conditioner that are especially made for your hair type.
Protect your hair from possible damage caused by the sun.
Dust and direct sunlight damage the hair. So as much as possible, cover your head when you are outdoors. You can use hats or scarfs to protect your hair from too much exposure to the sun.
Let your hair dry naturally.
Hair is at its weakest when it is wet. Never rub a towel on wet hair and do not comb it vigorously. However, you can wrap the towel on your hair after bathing but do not make it too tight. After a few minutes, take the towel off and let your hair dry in natural air. Use wide-toothed comb when combing wet hair. Also avoid the use of hair blower and hair brush because it makes the hair dry.
