3 Unhealthy Lifestyles that Elicit Hair Loss

Hair loss and hair thinning problem isn’t always only in your genes. Sometimes, bad habits and improper lifestyle can bring about the onset of this condition.

Indeed, smoking, drinking and extreme dieting are some poor lifestyle choices that  take a toll on the quality of  your hair, inducing the onset of hair fall, hair thinning or, worse, hair loss.

Excessive Smoking

Cigarette smoking affects the beauty of the hair since it causes the strands to become dull, lifeless and brittle.

The damaging toxins like carbon monoxide and nicotine, which are present in tobacco, may reduce the blood’s oxygen-carrying capacity, leading to brittle and damaged hair strands.

In addition, smoking stops the flow of blood in all parts of the body, including the hair; hence, delivering inadequate amount of oxygen and nutrients on the hair follicles. When this happens, the hair follicles do not get the right amount of the vital nutrients they need to assist in the hair growth process.
